An Introduction to Iron Corpse
Home to the Finnish metal underground
Starting something new after all this time was never going to be easy, so I decided to jump straight in and begin with an introduction to a label that doesn’t get enough coverage. I first came across Helsinki’s Iron Corpse when I reviewed the Frogskin/Taser Split LP back in 2020. Back then the label was called Iron Coffin.
That split was the label’s first release and since then they’ve worked alongside loads of Finnish bands including Worm Wisdom (ambient/noise/power electronics), The Reality Show and Corrosion (metallic hardcore), Cold Hell (powerviolence), the brilliantly named Necrophil Collins (noise/grind), Kuvotus and Morbific (death metal).
They’ve also worked with international acts including Wormridden (Japanese/Danish death/doom), Anatomia (Japanese death/doom), Funeral Whore (Dutch death metal) and this year they’ve worked with Ilsa (US crust/sludge/death metal) as well.
